Senator Kamala Harris Visited Raleigh Restaurant Trophy Brewing Company | Eater Carolinas

"On Sept. 28 I noted that Senator Kamala Harris stopped by the microbrewery/restaurant and presented co-owners Chris Powers, David Woody Lockwood, and David Meeker with an MVP trophy for the new built-in trophy case at their 827 West Morgan Street location. The brewery is known for using vintage trophies as displays, tap handles, and overall decoration; the team renovated the space right before the COVID pandemic to add that trophy case, and Harris’s gift was to be the first item placed in it. Powers wrote on Facebook that they welcomed Harris, discussed what it’s like to run a restaurant during a pandemic and their hopes for the community, described her as genuine, down to earth and a force to be reckoned with, mentioned their Allyship project with Natasha Powell Walker, and said they will treasure the trophy for years to come." - Erin Perkins
