"Opening its first central Austin location on Thursday, April 19, the new restaurant at 3918 North Lamar Boulevard occupies the former EZ’s Brick Oven and Grill building, which closed after an accidental fire in January 2016. As with other locations in the chain, it will serve Real Texas Bar-B-Q seven days a week, offering smoked meats and sides sold by weight — including brisket, ribs, turkey, and sausages — along with potato salad, creamed corn, other traditional sides, desserts, and breakfast tacos; breakfast, lunch, dinner and group meals will be available. This is the chain’s fifth Austin location (the brand began in Leon Springs in 1989 and has expanded across Texas and into Oklahoma, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico). Austin-area operations are overseen by Ken Schiller and Brian Nolen of K&N Management, who have managed local locations since 1994. Hours for the North Lamar (and 40th Street) spot are 6:00 a.m.–9:30 p.m. Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. Friday–Saturday, and 7:00 a.m.–9:30 p.m. Sunday. For opening day on April 19, the restaurant will give $20 gift cards to the first 100 customers." - Nadia Chaudhury
