"The Barrio Logan community suffered a loss when the family-owned and locally loved taco shop ¡Salud! permanently closed its doors last year. The good news is that ¡Salud! fans can now savor the popular tacos that brought fame to the Logan outpost once again by visiting the Becerra family’s new restaurant: La Familia. The new venue replaced a Mexican restaurant formerly known as Tio Leo’s and offers an array of tacos, from classics like carne asada, al pastor, and birria to vegetable and grilled shrimp. The new Mission Gorge location has plenty of high top tables, private booths, and an old-school bar dubbed the Jungle Room for gaining liquid courage with cocktails like the My Time with gin, lemon juice, and elderflower liqueur during karaoke nights on Thursdays. On Tuesday and Wednesday, diners can get street tacos for $2.50 a pop all day long (guacamole add-ons are $1.25 per taco)." - Roxana Becerril
