"Accessed inside an office building lobby and up a set of escalators, D.C.'s long-running Morton’s sports a wood-framed dining room and a lengthy patio overlooking Connecticut Avenue NW. The downtown power spot's dinner on July 6 was interrupted when abortion-rights activists from ShutDownDC circled the steakhouse and reportedly told the manager to eject Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh; according to reports he left through the back with his security detail and — per a person cited by Politico — ate a full meal but left before dessert. A Morton’s representative condemned the demonstration, saying Kavanaugh and other customers were “unduly harassed by unruly protestors” and arguing that politics should not trample the right to congregate and eat dinner; the steakhouse is part of the Landry’s-owned chain and Eater reached out for further comment." - Tierney Plumb
