"A hidden favorite for truckers, locals and out-of-towners after being featured on Food Network’s American Diner Revival, Southern Nevada Smokehouse has operated at the combination truck stop and wash on 1100 E. Colton Avenue since 2014, serving traditional diner plates for breakfast and lunch and earning a loyal following for its revolving daily menu of on-site smoked meats, including turkey, bacon, ham, hotlinks, ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. The diner has submitted plans to move just over one block away into a long-vacant, 4,400-square-foot former McDonald’s drive-thru at 3229 Losee Road (across the street from Tacos El Gordo and a Denny’s), where remodeling will preserve the drive-thru while adding a 15-seat bar, three seats at a walk-up outdoor window, a 600-square-foot patio and a 600-square-foot outdoor smoke yard equipped with two professional-grade smokers. The new location will continue focusing on families and the trucking community and is expected to be open daily from 5 a.m. to midnight; an estimated debut date and the fate of the original restaurant have not been revealed." - Bradley Martin
