"A new American brasserie called the Meatpackers will be taking Encore’s place, and I was told it pivots to American fare focused on seafood, meat, and vegetables rather than the playful French dishes originally planned. Jean Imbert is no longer involved; instead, chef Richard Farnabe — who worked at Picholine when it earned two Michelin stars and spent time at Daniel and other upscale French establishments — is behind the new menu, which includes steaks, seafood entrees like roasted salmon and lobster mac and cheese, a raw bar, and brunch staples such as matcha French toast, eggs Benedict, and a smoked salmon bagel. The restaurant at 1 Little West 12th St. reopens Monday, February 4, with dinner service from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily and weekend brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m." - Carla Vianna
