"I'm reporting that Dutch Girl Donuts is set to reopen in early January after a two-year hiatus; founded by the Timmer family in 1947, the shop closed in 2021 following the deaths of founders Gene and Lauren Timmer and was later sold in its entirety—including the property and recipes—to Paddy Lynch. Lynch says he has been connected to Dutch Girl since before he was born and is “extremely grateful, honored and excited” to carry this local favorite forward; he is also a third-generation funeral director with Lynch & Sons and has a long family history operating on Woodward. As part of the purchase agreement, Jon Timmer, who has worked in the shop for the last 20 years, will remain to make the family recipes, and Dutch Girl Donuts is located at 19000 Woodward Ave." - Serena Maria Daniels
