"Sfuzzi, a Dallas favorite for Italian from back in the day, is making a comeback in 2022. This & That Hospitality just announced a revival of the restaurant, which opened in Dallas in 1987 on McKinney Avenue in Uptown, went through a new iteration in 2009, and then closed for good in 2013. This time, Sfuzzi will open on the east side of Knox Henderson at 2401 Henderson Avenue. For fans of the original, expect to find lots of familiarities. Restaurateurs Brandon Hays (who opened the circa-2009 Sfuzzi) and Phil Schanbaum are enlisting some vets to return to their old stomping ground. Peja Kristic, who ran the kitchen at Sfuzzi from 2011 through 2013, is consulting on the pizza and pasta-heavy menu to bring favorite Sfuzzi dishes as well as create new dishes. Fernanda Rossano, who in 2009 worked as a barback at Sfuzzi, is in charge of the cocktail program. Under her watch, the popular frozen Bellinis from Sfuzzi’s heyday will return. The look of the new Sfuzzi will even channel the original, with a design from Wallace Johnson Studios that includes a showpiece Woodstone wood-burning oven, U-shaped bar, and wrap-around patio. This new location will span 4,000 square feet inside and 2,000 square feet for the patio, with room for 80 diners seated inside and 120 outside. When Sfuzzi opens early next year, the restaurant will serve cocktails, dinner, late-night meals, and brunch, with opening hours from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday and 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday." - Adele Chapin
