"I learned that Blue Bottle Coffee—now majority-owned by Nestlé—opens its first Greater Boston cafe on February 3, 2018, in Harvard Square (40 Bow St.) as the first of several planned locations in the metro area (with others slated for the Prudential Center in Back Bay and elsewhere in Boston). The Cambridge cafe spans about 1,400 square feet with seating for 22 and will source freshly roasted beans from the company’s roasting facility in Bushwick, New York; the beverage menu includes standard coffees, espresso, cold brew, and a New Orleans–style iced coffee brewed with roasted chicory and sweetened with sugar. On the food side I found that patrons can expect pastries, toasts, and liege-style waffles, and the site will eventually offer coffee classes on brewing techniques and varietals. Ahead of the opening the cafe held a community day on February 2 with nonprofit partner Artists For Humanity, with Blue Bottle providing support via sales donations." - Dana Hatic
