"Known for its crispy, spicy fried chicken that helped popularize Nashville-style birds in Chicago, the Lincoln Square Budlong (at 4619 N. Western Avenue) originally opened in April 2017 after the first location debuted in Lakeview in 2016 but closed after 15 months in September 2018; four months later owner Jared Leonard will reopen the Western Avenue location, adding wings and bone-in chicken meals served with pub fries and Texas toast to give customers better value, plus weekend brunch and weekend Spudnuts (potato-flour doughnuts). The reopening represents Leonard’s refocus on Chicago—he plans to return weekly to help run his restaurants, used the closure to regroup and bolster staff and morale, and has hired Ryan Territo (formerly director of operations at Leghorn Chicken) to lead operations at the Budlong." - Ashok Selvam
