"The Barrio Logan landmark is one of the most beloved Mexican restaurants in San Diego. The Estudillo family first opened its doors in 1933, and since then, the daytime joint has been slinging a straightforward menu highlighted by fresh flour tortillas, beans, and rice as well as a must-try chorizo con huevo. The lines can be long, but visits are always well worth the wait at the cash-only counter. Standouts include tamales (take a couple of pork tamales to go home and freeze for later), rolled tacos dressed in lettuce and queso, bean and cheese burritos, and pork or chicken burritos with lettuce and cheese." - Roxana Becerril
