"Opening May 26 in Buckhead, the Salty is taking over the former Your Pie space on West Paces Ferry Road and will offer year-round doughnut flavors like traditional glazed, maple and cinnamon twist, and white chocolate and chai, along with seasonal sweet and savory options such as strawberry shortcake, jalapeno and cheddar, banana cream pie, and a vegan ube pina colada; gluten-free doughnuts are also available. I learned that tasting previews will take place May 20 and May 21 via a lottery (60 people win a complimentary box each day), with people able to register online and winners notified by email with pickup instructions for the Buckhead shop. Two other Atlanta locations are expected later this year at the Krog District near Krog Street Market and at Sentral West Midtown (Star Metals) on Howell Mill Road. The Salty began eight years ago as a Miami pop-up run out of a 1950s camper and has since grown to eight locations across Florida, North Carolina, and Texas; the three Georgia shops expand the brand further into the Southeast. Hours will be Sunday–Thursday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday–Saturday 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; the Buckhead address is 5 West Paces Ferry Road, Atlanta, and the website is saltydonut.com." - Beth McKibben
