"Tucked between rolling green hills, I followed the trail to Achadinha (osh-a-deen-ah), a three-generation, family-run farm in Petaluma that produces both hard and soft cheeses. Tours and tastings—typically led by owner Donna Pachec—last about 90 minutes and include a jaunt up to the milking parlor and a visit to “the girls,” the family’s cows (you may even get to pet them if they’re feeling social). Donna also leads cheese-making classes; tours are offered most Saturdays and tickets can be purchased in advance on the farm website for $40 per adult, $10–$20 for children, and free for kids under 5." - Marisa Churchill
