"In East Nashville I visited Hawkers Asian Street Fare, which slid into the former Family Wash space at 626A Main Street; the 5,000-square-foot restaurant is splashed with color at every turn and feels cozy and fun once the sun sets. The easily shared menu — with nothing over $11 — features Malaysian roti, Korean twice-fried chicken wings, a signature pad Thai, and Sichuan wontons; small plates are organized into handhelds and dim sum, then meat + seafood and lighter offerings, while the back of the menu contains larger dishes like noodles, soups, and rice and curry plates. Independently owned by four friends from across Asia — Kaleb Harrell, Allen Lo, Wayne Yung, and Kin Ho — the brand pays homage to hawker street food stalls and leans on many of Allen Lo’s family recipes. To drink, I found cocktails and sake flights alongside beer and wine; you can order online for pick-up or delivery at some locations, join a dine-in waitlist online to shorten waits, and note the Nashville location is open Sunday–Wednesday 11 a.m.–10 p.m. and Thursday–Saturday 11 a.m.–11 p.m." - Delia Jo Ramsey
