"A new multi-story movieplex at the redone Bloc in Downtown Los Angeles (adjacent to Macy’s near 7th and Flower) features 12 screening rooms totaling just under 570 seats and programs everything from rare screenings and one-off debuts to mini festivals, blockbusters, and indie films. Each theater seat provides access to a full menu of food and drink—service begins 30 minutes before trailers so patrons can place initial orders, and additional items can be ordered during screenings by writing them on a slip for staff to collect, a system designed to minimize disruptions. Downstairs, the Video Vortex offers an open bar and dining/gaming area with roughly 150 seats, a Tex‑Mex menu, movie‑themed cocktails, more than 45 craft beers on tap, arcade and board games, movie rentals, and merchandise for sale. Tickets are roughly $17, food and drink are overseen by chef Hondo Houston, hours vary with programming, and validated parking is available at the Bloc; members received early access before the general opening." - Farley Elliott
