Some Jerk Tried to Steal Lucky 13’s Sign | Eater SF

"On Mission Street I know the dive bar Lucky 13 has ducked disaster time and time again, its ominous name becoming almost self-fulfilling; in the latest episode a man was caught on camera trying to rip down the bar’s big, circular cat sign, Hoodline reports. According to a Lucky 13 Facebook post, a passerby messaged management saying they saw the man standing on a plastic folding chair and tugging at the sign; when questioned he allegedly claimed he was just “fixing” it and then ran off. Bar manager Martin Kraenkel told Hoodline he can’t understand why anyone would try to steal the sign—“There’s no value to it,” he said—and added that no one would be stoked if a friend did that and would expect them to surrender it immediately." - Eve Batey
