"Located on the opposite side of the parking lot from the future Big Boy near the Smith’s entrance at Skye Canyon Marketplace, I discovered Sakura Ya, a long-promised Japanese restaurant that fills a rare dining slot in the far northwest—currently joined only by Umami and Krazy Sushi on Durango Drive—and complements nearby casual Asian spots Qwik Thai and China-a-Go-Go. The casual, full-service place offers takeout and delivery and a set of lunch specials including sushi and sashimi deals and beef, chicken, or salmon bento boxes. Its lengthy menu features tempura appetizers, soups, ramen, udon, chicken katsu, teriyaki dishes, and raw-bar options of tuna, yellowtail, and octopus, plus dozens of specialty, baked, and fried rolls; the Sakura boat hosts three special rolls and a chef’s choice of 12 pieces of sashimi and 10 servings of nigiri. I noted it is located at 9750 W Skye Canyon Park Drive, phone 702-396-2665, and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m." - Bradley Martin
