"Conceived by chefs and artists Andrew Greene and Duncan Kwitkor, Abstract Table is a permanent, exhibition-style dinner series that will rotate every three months; I learned it offers a five-course menu for $50 or seven courses for $70, with seating at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and reservations available on Resy. The inaugural edition, Fine Dining on Paper, playfully presents upscale dishes on metal trays lined with biodegradable sandwich paper and includes courses such as bok choy with sea bean, pear, and yuzu kosho; ocean trout with arugula nage and pickled cucumber; and lamb breast with smoked cauliflower and togarashi honey. Greene and Kwitkor — who trained as painters and have cooked together at Duchessin Oakland and Naked Kitchen pop-ups — tested the concept with three sold-out, three-course pop-ups, and plan future exhibits like a wintertime Blizzards series focused on Japanese and Scandinavian flavors while keeping prices relatively accessible compared with high-end restaurants." - Janelle Bitker
