"After four months of repairs following Hurricane Harvey, I found Los Tios Mexican Restaurant at 4840 Beechnut is back and will celebrate its grand reopening on Wednesday. The 31-year-old restaurant was flooded with several feet of water and suffered extensive structural damage; employees were trapped inside overnight, required assistance from first responders to cross the flooded street, and later discovered flooded cars and, for some, flooded homes, with one employee likening the chest-high, fast-flowing water on Beechnut to white-water rafting. Owner Gary Adair plans to donate 100% of proceeds from Wednesday night’s opening party (Jan. 27, 5–10 p.m.) to employees affected by Harvey; fortunately the staff were not injured and were temporarily transferred to other Adair-owned restaurants while the Beechnut outpost was repaired." - Alaena Hostetter
