"Made part of a roughly 50-location chain that traces back to a Michelin-starred original, I found the Irvine strip-mall outpost defined by long lines, fast service and an ambiance that feels “more Cinnabon than banquet hall.” It doesn’t quite mirror the fun and energy of top dim sum houses, but as a well-trafficked, inexpensive pit stop it succeeds: the conceit—fast service, a cheap check and well-executed food—plays out here, especially on the steamed and non-fried side of the menu. Rice rolls are properly addictive and the turnip cakes are torqued with dried shrimp, making this a reliable, accessible and delicious option for dim sum." - Farley Elliott
