"Longtime brunch hit Bongo Room will close its Andersonville outpost after service on Sunday, March 10 after a dozen years at 5022 N. Clark Street, owner Derrick Robles announced on Facebook. Robles founded the original Bongo Room with late chef and business partner John Latino in 1993 in Wicker Park and despite a rocky start, the pair went on to garner a reputation for fun, playful brunch fare like fluffy lemon ricotta pancakes and banana bread French toast. Over the years, they expanded into South Loop (the location closed in 2019), and later, Andersonville. The Wicker Park restaurant remains open on Milwaukee Avenue." - Ashok Selvam
