"I learned that Amplified Ale Works in Pacific Beach has opened an intimate 800-square-foot tasting room called Amplified BackStage below its larger brewpub; it features a 20-foot wraparound bar and 16 rotating taps, and is decorated with concert posters, vintage speakers, and over 2,000 cassettes customers can play on request. BackStage is open 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday to Thursday and noon to midnight Friday and Saturday, can accommodate private events for up to 50 people, and will host occasional live music shows." - Candice Woo
