Chef Johnny Lee Explores Southeast Asian Flavors at New LA Restaurant Rasarumah - Eater LA

"Rasarumah is where Johnny Lee, along with the founders of Last Word Hospitality, displays his decades-long obsession with foods that explore the Chinese diaspora in Southeast Asia. Lee describes Rasarumah as a Chinese Malaysian restaurant incorporating various parts of Malay culture, with Indian and Indonesian flavors also playing a significant part. Menu highlights include fried chicken with nasi lemak, a char kway teow, chicken and pork jowl satay, gado gado salad, achar turmeric pickles, and wagyu beef cheek rendang with roti bread. The restaurant features an accessible list of wines, shochu, sake, and beer selections compiled by sommelier Evelyn Goreshnik." - Mona Holmes
