"Comfort food favorite State Fare Kitchen & Bar has announced plans to open a second location in Sugar Land. The restaurant’s new outpost is set to open its doors this fall at 15930 City Walk at the Sugar Land Town Square, according to a press release, and will occupy a 6,086 square foot space. The second restaurant joins the original location of State Fare that opened in Memorial City in 2016, and comes about a year after current owner Culinary Khancepts acquired the restaurant from the now-defunct Cherry Pie Hospitality. The Sugar Land location of State Fare will serve the same menu of laid-back dishes like Fritos chili pie, fried green tomatoes with lump crab, and gigantic “XXL” pancakes served at brunch. It will also boast a similar list of cocktail options, including its extremely popular flights of frozen cocktails, bloody marys, and mimosas. No official arrival date for State Fare’s Sugar Land location has been announced just yet, but expect it to arrive sometime in “late fall” 2019." - Amy McCarthy
