"On First Avenue I discovered Veeray da Dhaba, an updated steam-table dhaba focused on Punjabi fare where $17 buys an enormous weekday lunchtime portion. I ordered the homestyle chicken curry — I loved that the daily specials rotate and that lamb is available for a fair price — which tasted very homestyle and mellow; it came with a dish of potatoes and peas that didn’t taste frozen, and the dal was a standout.
