"Short-lived Japanese skewer spot Kushiba has made way for A Tí, a new modern Mexican bar from Bestia’s former chef de cuisine, Andrew Ponce. The restaurant popped up around town, with residencies at restaurants like All Day Baby, before settling into its current Echo Park location. Ponce has put together a tight menu with a handful of tacos, tostadas, and mains like a duck mole. While at A Tí for a friend’s birthday (and World Series watch party) this weekend, I opted for the al pastor taco. The base of the taco is a pliant blue corn tortilla, to which a small pile of spiced, tender pork is added. On top is a cool tomatillo avocado salsa and juicy hunks of pineapple that mimic the flavor of a street taco topping." - Eater Staff
