Where to Dine Out on Christmas and Christmas Eve in Seattle

"The Fairmont Olympic has two flagship restaurants, and both are open from 1 to 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Shuckers is on the 4th and Seneca side of the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, with a ton of dark oak to go along with the seafood, making for a timelessly scenic way to celebrate. The prix fixe menu here features main courses like citrus-brined turkey, prime rib, and more, and eggnog creme brulee for dessert. The pricing starts at $95 and $50 for kids ages 5 to 12. To book, go here. Inside the hotel from the University Street entrance, The George is no less extravagant than Shuckers but with a distinctly lighter aesthetic of an ivory-toned neoclassical base with colorful modern accents. It’s one of the prettiest spaces in the city. Here, the prix fixe menu is family-style (with a two-person minimum) and features starters like citrus-roasted beets, mains like a decadent grilled beef tenderloin Oscar, and more. It starts at $85, and like at Shuckers, there’s a lower starting price of $50 for kids ages 5 to 12. For reservations at The George, go here." - Mark DeJoy, Eater Staff
