"At the Williamsburg Trader Joe’s, I'm reporting that employees are petitioning to unionize, alleging poor working conditions, racial discrimination, and union-busting, according to More Perfect Union. If successful, it would be the first Trader Joe’s store in New York to unionize; two Trader Joe’s locations in Massachusetts and Minnesota unionized over the summer. Staffers also point to the recently closed Trader Joe’s wine shop in Manhattan, alleging it was abruptly shut down just as workers were about to publicize their intent to unionize, though Trader Joe’s denies the closure was related to union activity." - Erika Adams
