"Occupying a semi-industrial building, Borekas Van Nuys is the second San Fernando Valley location from Sherman Oaks’s popular Sephardic pastry shop; it opened May 3 after Gal and Uzi Waizman—who debuted Borekas in 2022—regularly sold out and needed a bigger space to meet demand. The new location features an order counter, outdoor seating, and capacity for large orders after the couple took over the 40-year-old Four N 20 bakery-and-diner space that closed in 2020. “The whole move was so we could make more,” says Gal Waizman; Borekas got a huge buzz for selling out, and the team says they now want to do their best not to sell out so quickly. Borekas Van Nuys is open 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (until 2:30 p.m. on Fridays) and is closed on Saturdays." - Mona Holmes
