"La Villa is a colorful honky-tonk in the Bronx’s Kingsbridge neighborhood working as a family refectory by day and a fully licensed bar by evening. The latter specializes in sangria, mojitos, and margaritas — only served on the rocks, the menu cautions there are no frozen margaritas here. Drinking snacks during happy hour run include nachos, Buffalo wings, and queso fundido, but the full-meal menu runs to molcajetes, combination platters of meat and seafood, and hand-patted sopes, best washed down with fresh-fruit batidos. There’s live music on Fridays and Sundays." - Nadia Chaudhury
