Hiro Izakaya will soon open in West Town | Eater Chicago
"On Thursday, March 6, Celeste announced a new izakaya to open in spring at 1600 W. Chicago Avenue; Celeste has full control of the former space at the northwest corner of Ashland and Chicago. A news release describes the "live-fire robata grill" as the restaurant's soul. The concept will continue to serve seafood (sushi will be on the menu) and plans include small plates and family-style dining options. While not naming any chefs, the release says a group of culinary experts who worked at Asian fusion staples Sunda and Nobu developed the menu. The project will "fixate on an '80s aesthetic," bringing "a taste of Tokyo to town" with traditional Toki highballs, plus sake and whisky." - Ashok Selvam
