"A self-described “little sister” to the neighbouring Herne Hill restaurant, this deli-by-day and wine-bar-by-night will open at 291 Railton Road under chef Lasse Petersen, formerly of the acclaimed, now-closed Copenhagen restaurant Amass and head chef at the sister venue since mid-2020. Evenings will focus on inventive, snacky plates — devilled eggs with trout roe, the gilda as snack du jour, beef tartare with pickled artichokes, and Parisian gnocchi tossed with wild mushrooms and Perigord truffle — while daytime service offers classic sandwiches and salads such as Parisian ham with mustard and cornichons and a winter salad of chickpeas and chard with preserved lemon and guindilla peppers. Designed to operate as both retail and restaurant, it will also sell jars of pickles made by the neighbouring kitchen plus olive oil, pasta, bread, chocolate, fruit, vegetables and other staples, aiming to provide simple, top-quality food to the local area in an informal, accessible format." - James Hansen
