"I found Ely’s Restaurant to be a family-run, family-welcoming spot that has opened a second location about four miles southwest by taking over the former Blueberry Hill Restaurant & Lounge; the new, 4,350-square-foot space at the Green Valley Town & Country Center (facing the future La Bonita Supermarket near Green Valley Parkway and Sunset Road) lacks an outdoor patio but has plenty of room inside for its lengthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. Founded in 2015 by Roan Torres and named for his mother and daughter, Ely’s is best known for generous portions and its breakfast offerings and “mega burger” options, including a full selection of pancakes, French toast, waffles, and crepes; bowls of menudo and pozole; and “Ely’s Favorites” like pasta, chicken fettuccine, and steak fajitas. They also serve huge portions of fries with combination toppings such as bacon cheese, chorizo, or chili, and are open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m." - Bradley Martin
