"Alcoholic sparkling water fans, rejoice: San Juan Seltzery Taproom, Kitchen & Bar is now open in SoDo. The hotly anticipated partnership between Ethan Stowell Restaurants (How to Cook a Wolf, Tavolàta, and many more) and San Juan Seltzer sits at 3901 First Avenue South inside the seltzer’s production facility at the SoDo Urbanworks. The Selzery serves 12 kinds of San Juan Seltzers plus cocktails made with them (notably The Dread Pirate Katy with rum, lime, orgeat, mint, and Huckleberry San Juan Seltzer), along with beer, wine — including selections from neighbors within Urbanworks — two nonalcoholic seltzer options, coffee, tea, and sodas. The seafood-focused, all-day counter-service menu includes crab cakes, cod and chips, clams frites, desserts like cheesecake, and a kids' menu with chicken tenders. The space is open and airy with seating for about 40 at stools inside or at tables around a fire pit on the heated patio; there’s a brightly colored, game-filled kids' play area and TVs for adults to watch sports. San Juan Seltzer was founded by Katy Enger in 2017, with each flavor representing a fruit grown exclusively in the Pacific Northwest, and Ethan Stowell Restaurants was founded in 2007 and now operates over a dozen Seattle-area restaurants, with a third Tavolàta location having opened in July. The Selzery is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m." - Erin Russell
