"I'm reporting that another branch of North Italia is scheduled to open Wednesday, June 5 at One Paseo in Carmel Valley; the modern Italian restaurant arrived last fall in Fashion Valley and is a popular brand for Fox Restaurant Concepts, which also runs Blanco Tacos + Tequila in Fashion Valley, Flower Child in Del Mar, and is bringing The Henry to Coronado this summer. At 5,110 square-feet, North Italia is one of the bigger eateries at One Paseo, with a dining area that seats 150 guests and a large patio and outdoor bar. The bar program includes a Sicilian Margarita with Gran Centenario añejo, Solerno blood orange, and lime, and a red sangria with brandy, blood orange, red wine, strawberries, and lime juice, plus wine and local beer. Its executive chef is Seth Vider, who joins from Red O in the UTC area; his kitchen will make pasta daily, as well as pizzas and a seasonal spring menu featuring a salad with kale, roasted cauliflower, clementine, date, avocado, faro, golden raisins, quinoa, goat cheese, almonds, and sherry vinaigrette, burrata tortelloni with cherry tomato, basil, pecorino, and tomato sauce, and roasted salmon with pesto faro, caramelized cauliflower, broccolini, lemon gremolata, and saba.
