"Founded in the Napa Valley, Silver Oak Winery expanded in 2018 to a new Alexander Valley property north of Healdsburg in Sonoma, where PG&E held a year-planned dinner and wine tasting for about 10–12 top gas employees and 50–60 of their biggest customers. As one of the region’s best-known winemakers, it produces mostly cabernet; notably, its original winery was the first LEED Platinum–certified winery in the world and the Alexander Valley property was the second, fitted with 2,500 rooftop solar panels. I found it ironic that a company with PG&E’s history was the site of the event, but those panels and backup generators have kept Silver Oak’s Sonoma and Napa tasting rooms open during recent outages, and the winery says it’s open for regular business hours this weekend." - Caleb Pershan
