"Ahead of a scheduled “grand opening” on April 9, chef Nittaya Parawong has debuted her Bangkok-inspired Block 9 Thai Street Eats menu in south Summerlin. The restaurant — a short walk from another new arrival, the already popular Peet’s Coffee cafe — takes over 2,012 square feet at the Retail Trails center, close to the corner of Town Center Drive and the 215. With all items priced at less than $12 and also available to pre-order online before picking up inside the industrial-style design restaurant, the menu serves Parawong’s casual spin on Thai street fare. Choices include “Urban Favorites” of grilled pork skewers, basil chicken, Thai barbecue pork, and the red, yellow, green, and panang beef “Street Curries.” “Wok fried noodles or rice” options include fried mussels, drunken noodles and pad Thai with side dishes of soup, fried tofu, beef jerky, garlic spare ribs and the “world famous spinach salad” found at her original restaurant, Nittaya’s Secret Kitchen.
