"I understand Mount Royal is a Montreal‑style steakhouse at the Hyatt Centric hotel in Buckhead that opened about four months ago and was conceived by Hugh Acheson as an ode to his hometown of Ottawa and neighboring Montreal; the menu centers on prime cuts of steak paired with French‑Canadian dishes such as Lyonnaise salad, tourtiere (meat pies), and sour pickles. Recently the restaurant has been the subject of a management change: Acheson (and apparently Sam Herndon, head of his culinary team) are no longer affiliated with the project, some reservations were canceled and the restaurant has temporarily closed for dinner while the hotel says it is undergoing “exciting changes,” though Mount Royal remains open for breakfast seven days a week and the hotel declined to elaborate on any rebranding plans.
