"Located in the South Bay shopping complex in Dorchester, Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ (23 District Ave., Boston) opened this month after being in the works since the end of 2017 and joins regional locations in Brookline and Cambridge. Following the chain’s shared Japanese barbecue format, diners cook their own cuts of beef, chicken, and seafood on a central grill; the menu also includes salads, soups, noodles, rice dishes, and an assortment of appetizers. There’s an all-you-can-eat menu chock full of grilled meats, cheese fondue, and dessert, and the Dorchester location serves sake, draft beer, cocktails, wine, and hard liquor. The first Gyu-Kaku opened in California in 2001 and the chain now operates hundreds of locations worldwide." - Dana Hatic
