"Opening on Thursday, March 12 at 634 Selden St. next to Smith & Co., Condado Tacos is bringing its Ohio-based hard-shell taco concept to Detroit’s Cass Corridor. The build-your-own menu lets diners choose shells (from a traditional hard corn shell and a spicy Firecracker hard shell to a soft flour tortilla), pick fillings such as tequila lime steak, house-made chorizo, scrambled eggs, barbecue pulled jackfruit, and Thai chili tofu, and add toppings like jicama-cabbage slaw, pickled red onions, and queso; orders are placed using a scantron-like sheet. The chain also offers a long list of margaritas sold by the glass and in pitchers. Located in the former Detroit Creamery property, the Selden Street restaurant will be Condado’s sixteenth location (the group opened a Royal Oak restaurant last year) and will likely compete with similar Ohio-based chains and neighborhood spots such as Bakersfield, Alley Taco, and El Taco Veloz." - Brenna Houck
