A Portland Boathouse Is Reopening As a Kid-Friendly Destination for Fish Sandwiches | Eater Portland

"A year-round indoor-outdoor spot on Hayden Island opening in early July, it will operate every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. with mornings (7–11 a.m.) devoted to coffee, pastries and grab-and-go grocery-style items and a lunch/dinner seafood-forward menu through the evening. The food leans heavily on Pacific Northwest seafood: Oregon albacore tuna salad, oversized panko-breaded fish sandwiches dusted in kettle chips and served on comically tiny buns, a local take on a lobster roll using Oregon Bay shrimp, seasonal Dungeness crab, and soft serve for dessert. The cocktail program, overseen by a veteran barkeep with his own syrups, mixes classics like the Dark and Stormy with inventive riffs such as a Banoffee Bahama Mama built with Hamilton dark rum, banana liqueur and a shot of soft serve. Housed in a renovated marina leasing office with a big lawn and family-focused layout (designed with help from Pistils Nursery), the place aims for an approachable, nostalgic vibe—somewhere between an original Dairy Queen and Maine’s Bagaduce Lunch—encouraging families and boaters to linger by the water." - Paolo Bicchieri
