"I've noticed that William Jeffrey’s Tavern in Arlington, which previously relied on ramen and tiki drinks to draw a crowd, is launching a weekly seasonal cookout called Billy Jeff’s BBQ starting Thursday, July 19. The smoke-forward menu will include Carolina-style pulled pork (served by the ¼ pound), beer-can chicken (available by the ¼ chicken), and rotating chef’s specials such as pork belly or brisket, alongside southern-style sides—house slaw, grilled corn, and potato salad—with mac and cheese or baked beans cycling through. Dessert offerings range from a regular root beer float to one made with a milk stout beer, and the bar is experimenting with boozy Cheerwine popsicles and a possible liquor-spiked Yoohoo. These menu additions are available each Thursday from noon to 10 p.m. (or until the food runs out), and management expects the picnic-y fare to likely remain into the fall." - Warren Rojas
