"A longtime neighborhood bakery on Figueroa near 55th Avenue that has been operating since 1990, serving pan dulces alongside sandwiches, breakfasts, coffee drinks, and whatever locals are craving. The team prepares cinnamon- and piloncillo-laced puerquitos, breakfast burritos, traditional conchas, guayaba turnovers, and an iced pinole (roasted ground corn) latte, and a handful of plant-based conchas are also available. The bakery collaborates with neighboring businesses too, for example preparing challah for the nearby sandwich shop Jeff’s Table using tangzhong. While newer spots are tempting, this is presented as a decades-old community hub worth seeking out. — Mona Holmes, editor, Eater Southern California/Southwest" - Eater Staff
