"Liam Bonner, Berkeley Bowl’s director of food services, said his first concern on hearing about the burglary was the safety of the Rize Up team and the integrity of the product, not whether his store would be supplied; he immediately pulled any potentially breached loaves off the shelves. Berkeley Bowl typically gets about 50 loaves a day for retail and also relies on Rize Up bread for in-house items — grilled cheese sandwiches and about 30 housemade meatball sandwiches daily made on Rize Up’s East Coast hoagie rolls — so a missed delivery affects both retail sales and the store’s prepared-food production." - Dianne de Guzman
