"I learned that the wildly popular Danny Meyer burger joint will officially swing open its doors in Green Hills on Thursday, August 23 in a 4,000-square-foot corner space at the Hill Center (4031 Hillsboro Pike). The Green Hills Shack features a sizable patio and seating for over 200 and serves the classics — ShackBurger, crinkle-cut fries, and shakes — plus frozen custard concretes with Nashville-exclusive collaborations with Olive & Sinclair Chocolate Co. and Little Mosko’s, and a burger topped with Peg Leg Porker’s seasoned cracklins. Diners can sip local brews from Yazoo, Jackalope, The Black Abbey, and Tailgate, along with Shake Shack’s Brooklyn Brewery ShackMeister® Ale, and order Shack Red™ and Shack White™ wines from the Gotham Project. I appreciate that the Green Hills Shack will donate all proceeds from the soft opening and 5% of sales from the Pie Oh My concrete to Room in the Inn, which provides programs emphasizing human development and recovery through education, self-help, and work for those who call the streets of Nashville home. The space also emphasizes green architecture, with tabletops made from reclaimed bowling alley lanes by CounterEvolution and booths crafted from Forest Stewardship Council–certified lumber." - Delia Jo Ramsey
