"Located in the same shopping center as the Meepleville Board Game Cafe, I discovered a retro pop-culture ice cream shop that scoops ice cream, shaved ice, gelato, and sorbet and outfits its display cases with comic books, action figures, and VHS tapes from the ’70s–’90s. I could play (or even buy) vintage arcade machines, and the shop’s mixtapes—named things like Oreo Speedwagon, Don’t Call Me Swirly, and Animal Cracker House—layer ice cream with sauces and mix-ins; the Saturday Morning Cartoons mixes vanilla ice cream with Fruity Pebbles and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, sliced banana, and marshmallow sauce. Much of the decor is interactive: a He-Man background includes a poseable Orko and sword, a Star Wars display features a life-size Han Solo frozen in carbonite, and the bathroom entry is flanked by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles displays. It’s open daily from 12:30 p.m. to 9 p.m." - Janna Karel
