"In the Central Eastside on SE 7th, I visited the brand-new tasting room opened by Anne Hubatch, owner and winemaker of Helioterra Wines; the space brings cranberry-and-black-tea-infused ciders and urban wines to the neighborhood and is stocked with an assortment of Portland-made wines. As a Willamette Valley winery with a diverse, well-reviewed portfolio, Helioterra offers the obligatory pinot noir, aromatic whites like melon de bourgogne, and Rhône reds such as mourvédre. The tasting room has about 30 outdoor seats and an intimate indoor tasting area, and all of the wines and ciders are available in flights, including mixed cider-and-wine flights." - Alex Frane
