"Now occupying the Marla Bakery space at Balboa and 37th Ave in the Outer Richmond, Devil’s Teeth Baking Company has opened its second location this week. Building on its reputation as the egg-sandwich love shack of the foggy Outer Sunset, it thankfully replaces one favorite bakery with another and keeps the west side rich in butter, selling hot biscuits, cinnamon rolls, and donut muffins. The Outer Richmond spot mirrors the original with a full pastry case of cookies, muffins, scones, and more, and its popular egg sandwiches are as big as your face and smothered with cheese and housemade hot sauce. There are also simple lunch options — a soup of the day, a few sandwiches, quiche, and lasagna — and the notable addition of pizza made in the wood-fired oven first installed by Marla’s (pizza is available Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.). The space, renovated five years ago, is nearly triple the square feet of the cozy original and offers room for sit-down tables plus a standing bar for coffee and a bun; the back patio (where the Marla owners got married) appears closed for now. Devil’s Teeth Baking Company is now open in the Outer Richmond every day from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m." - Becky Duffett
