"For a city that spends a good chunk of the year in deep freeze, Montreal has a pretty formidable ice cream scene, with Dalla Rose leading the pack. The spot has a flair for whipping up ingenious flavor combinations with local ingredients. Think chanterelle mushroom and brown butter with cocoa nibs; ricotta, Ontario peaches, nuts, and maple syrup; or vanilla and Quebec cantaloupe twist. Dalla Rose was founded by two alums from Italian favorite Nora Gray, Michael Dalla Libera and Nick Rosati, whose names blend into the shop’s portmanteau.
