"Construction is underway on what will be New Orleans’s first dedicated pickleball facility, Exchange Pickleball and Bar, and I’m told it will include a restaurant and bar in addition to indoor and outdoor courts. The project is taking over a vacant 20,000-square-foot warehouse in the LGD at 2120 Rousseau Street, across from the Tchoupitoulas Street Walmart. It’s backed by a group of at least six investors including Renee Melchiode, who calls it an "economic driver"; given its proximity to the Convention Center it will likely be a popular destination for corporate events and conference offsites. While the partners plan to bring in a restaurant group to operate the food-and-beverage venue, the venue’s website currently directs people to a calendar that will eventually list the "food truck lineup, live music, and more." The Exchange Pickleball and Bar is expected to open in mid-2023." - Clair Lorell
